In The Moment

                           

The Medstud has a little less than 2 weeks until he completes his 1st year of medical school. The LORD has been gracious to us in this season; from moving over the hill, family deaths, waiting on the LORD to grow our family, having now a pre-toddler who makes me smile everyday, leaving our home church to find another one near our new home and transitioning with friends and family as they move on to different seasons of life. So much can happen in an year! Heck so much can happen in a day! 

The Medstud has done very well his 1st year. He has met some great people along the way and has gained some awesome experience! The LORD's creation is truly amazing! He has enjoyed most of his study days more than he hasn't. And he has made the most of every opportunity. We thought the 1st year would be a complete whirl wind and that our sweet girl and I would never seem him. However, the LORD has made our time extremely purposeful, making family time a priority every day. We have made the most of every opportunity. And we have learned to take ALL planning before the throne; our plans only succeed when God establishes our steps.

What's in store for the summer? Making the MOST of every opportunity :)

• We plan on taking a family vacation; destination and date unknown.
• The Medstud will be working in a dissection lab. Dissecting the human body. Pretty neat!
• The Medstud may have a chance to shadow the top trauma surgeon dr. in the country.
• As a family we will be taking our sweet girl to a 10 day intensive swim class. Why? Well, we want her to learn to swim and hold her breath before she loses her natural reflex to. Babies has something called the bradycardic response, this causes babies to hold their breath and open their eyes when submerged. This skill is lost once the child gets older. Not only will you have to teach your child how to hold their breath but you may also have to help break them of the fear of going underwater. And because it just sounds like pure fun.
• I will be continuing my Thursday morning Bible Study. 
• We have 2 weddings (1 which includes a weekend trip to Santa Barbara), 2 wedding showers, 4 going-away-parties and some birthdays. We will get to see a lot of friends and family. Especially the Medstud since he has kinda been in hiding.
• I have a nice list of honey-do's for my honey.
• The Medstud will be teaching science to a bunch of summer camp kids at UCLA. He has a gift in teaching science. I think that'll be his subject when we homeschool; I'm not sure science and I are friends. I may need to get reacquainted. 
• Thursdays will be our beach day.  
• Wednesdays will still be grandparent's day.
• Sundays church and a time to rest.

Otherwise my schedule pretty much stays the same and will revolve around the Medstud's schedule.  

“Be very careful, then, how you live – not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil” (Ephesians 5:15-16).
