The Medstud is now in Block 4 of his 1st year of Medical School. This session is only 5 weeks long which means finals are already creeping up after a lovely 11 day spring break. After this block he only has 1 more left and its summer break!!!!!! 2 whole stinkin' months off of school.
During block 3 the Medstud had his bicycle stolen. Can you believe that, right on the UCLA campus! It was the same day I purchased a new lock that has a protection plan if anyone were to steal his bike. Bummer? Totally! The Medstud was extremely compassionate about the entire situation, to the point where he even remarked, "they may have needed a bike. It's OK, they came up." What in the world! The Medstud has a lot more compassion than I. One of the many reasons why the I love the Man.
With that said, let my brag sheet begin:
1. He works-out to stay physically fit for his family and to have energy after his long days at school. He doesn't have much time to be in a gym or play some recreational sport; so how does get he his physical fitness in? He rides his bicycle to school every day (he purchased a new one toward the end of his spring break). Riding about 45 miles a week!
2. He is a good steward over our money. Riding his bike every day cuts down our cost on gas. And instead of eating out every day, I pack him a healthy, nutritious lunch.
3. He loves the LORD and puts Him 1st. Then he loves me, little ol' me! He ALWAYS kisses me good-bye in the morning, when he arrives home and before we go off to dreamland at night. The Man loves me and loves coming home to his little family. After a long day, his home is where he turns to for joy and blessings!
4. He studies and does his work well. He is always motivated and takes pride in his work. He doesn't live for Friday or for the weekend. He LIVES every day and with purpose. He trusts that this is where the LORD has him and is confident where the LORD is leading him. Is it easy? Not all of the time. But his hope and faith is sure!
5. He loves is sweet little daughter. He prays for her. He makes sure he has time set aside everyday for family time. He reads parenting books and listens to my up-to-date reports on child rearing. We analyze and discuss how we can better serve each other and how we can be better parents for our sweet child and many more to come.
6. He dreams out loud with me and prays about the future.
The list could continue. These are just a few things that have stood out in my head the last couple of mornings!
The Man is a man of integrity, humility, strength, and nobility. I am blessed to be loved by someone so remarkable. He loves me for me and loves me despite my human frailty. He tries to love me everyday as Jesus loves His Church! He fixes things around our home when I ask him. He works hard to ensure that I can be home with our child. In turn, I make him breakfast, pack his lunch, cook him dinner; I strive to manage our home well, I tell him I love him and all the things I admire about him: he's an excellent father, he's strong, handsome, smart and a good husband. He's generous, a helpful neighbor and a faithful warrior for the Kingdom of God!
